The Problem
We’re searching for a talented Engineering Technician to affix our District 2 Allowing group.
On this position, you’ll:
Carry out on-site inspections for compliance with NCDOT requirements for driveway connection development, encroachment set up, and subdivision avenue development.Monitor unlawful use of freeway right-of-way for indicators, utilities, and personal actions.Help in amassing subject information for the evaluation of driveway permits, website plans, utility and non-utility encroachment agreements, subdivision plans, and street additions/abandonments.Meet with utility representatives, contractors, property homeowners, and others to debate adherence to insurance policies/procedures and to reply questions.Handle complaints from the general public by telephone, written correspondence, and in individual.Function a pc to arrange paperwork and keep databases.Help our Division throughout emergencies and unhealthy climate.Help our District Engineer with duties.
What You Deliver
Expertise conducting impartial, moderately-complex inspections with restricted supervision.Good engineering judgment to evaluate development plans, contract provisions, and inspection procedures.Expertise sustaining neat, legible, and correct data and studies, together with laptop/iPad information entry.Normal data of surveying.Laptop expertise utilizing apps on iPads and computer systems.
Training & Expertise
Affiliate’s diploma in Civil Engineering Know-how, Survey Know-how, or a associated subject, and2+ years related technician-level expertise; orAn equal mixture of coaching and expertise.
